On-Device AI Processing

All translation, OCR (image text extraction), speech recognition, and AI chat are performed locally on your device using the downloaded Gemma 3 AI model. No internet connection is required for any AI feature after the initial model download.

Local Storage

Translation history, chat history, and app preferences are stored locally on your device only. This data is never transmitted to any server and remains entirely under your control. You can clear this data at any time through the app settings or by uninstalling the app.

Internet Connection

An internet connection is only required for:

  • Downloading the AI model (one-time, approximately 3.2–4.3 GB over Wi-Fi)
  • Processing Google Play In-App Purchase subscriptions (handled entirely by Google)

After the model download, every AI feature — translation, image analysis, speech, and chat — works completely offline.

Google Play Purchases

If you choose to purchase a Pro subscription, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment information. Google's privacy policy governs these transactions. No subscription purchase is required to use the app — a free tier is available.

Third-Party Services

ℹ️ The App uses Google Play for distribution and in-app purchases only. We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics services, crash reporting tools, or other third-party data collection tools.

Children's Privacy

Since we do not collect any user data, LocalAI Translator is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
